There is a garden beyond that field, And a place beyond that garden. Do you know this place I’m talking about? This place where the heart rolls upon its own melting? Where all of life sings to its own unfolding glory?— I’ll meet you there. There is a place touched by a warm breeze, Where you can hear the sweet whispers of your soul; A place where lovers dance like the circling spheres, Where every drop of rain becomes a boundless blessing— I’ll meet you there. There is a place that will always be your home, Where every smile glistens like a summer sunset; A place where an ancient gatekeeper awaits your return, Where a million lifetimes join into one moment, now— I’ll meet you there. There is a place where these words cannot go, Where silence bathes us in a hue of golden light, Where all creation merges into the endless glory of love . . . Look, here, we are that place! I’ll meet you there. * this poem is based on a line from Rumi I Know the Secret I know how this universe began. I know the impulse, the wonder, the thrill. I know because I am here, now, at the very center of creation. So, how did it all begin? Did God say, “Let there be light”?―No, something was there before, Something impelled God to say those words. Did God say, “I am one, let me become many”? No―something inspired God to want to become many. It is the same secret of the overflowing heart That's creating the universe right here, right now. And as you are so dear to me, I'll tell you the secret of creation―it's nothing but love. It’s really that simple. There is love, and that love is full, and that love wants nothing more than itself . . . and that love always seeks to be fuller, greater, richer than itself. It is ever-seeking new ways to express its endless glory. It is beauty ever-becoming more beautiful, Fullness ever-seeking to become more full. It is you ever becoming more of who you truly are. Love encompasses the whole universe yet is ever-wanting to be more. It is the ever-new cascade of overflowing delight. . . . We know that the universe is expanding faster and faster every moment. And why is this so? Because the universe is ever love being itself. _____________________________________________________________________ lml 1116098650375 All material copyright (c) Jonathan Star, 2015 |
